PEAKFitAcademy is a training and education program whose primary goal is to
develop athletic potential by correcting physical imbalances, building strength,
promoting fat loss and preventing injury.
Yaw Owusu Jr. is a natural born athlete who ran track for Florida State University and
also played as a defensive back on their champion football team. He later went on to
try out at the NFL combines where he garnered great accolades.
With his degree in Exercise Physiology from FSU and a lifetime of experiences as an
athlete, Yaw received his NASM personal training certification in 2005 and quickly
climbed the ranks as a fitness professional to become a Master level trainer. While
working in Washington, DC he was the top ranking trainer at both Washington Sports
Clubs and Sport & Health. He also worked at The NextLevel, a private training facility
where he trained both professional and Division-1 athletes. With the knowledge he
gained during his employment at these various facilities, he went on to found The
YEAH Program, a fitness program dedicated to inspiring healthy youth. This program
was the first of its kind in the DC area and functioned as an after school fitness
program that taught children healthy eating habits and coached them on developing
basic athletic movements.
In 2009 he moved to Los Angeles, CA where he worked at the prestigious Equinox gym
in Westwood, CA and became trainer of the month his first month there. He is currently
the founder of the ground breaking concept that is PEAKFit Academy, and a freelance
personal trainer in the LA area.
